Learning, Teaching Training – adapted to online version
Stories, TED-talks, movie details, videos, presentations, role plays, games, small and large group discussions and a variety of excercises adapted to the online version made useful and entertaining the short-term joint staff training.
The objective of the training was to test Intellectual Output 1. (IO1) Train the trainer guideline based on the final draft of the six modules elaborated in collaboration with all partners in various roles – Responsible, Accountable, Supporter, Consulted, Informed.
The Train the trainer guideline is designed for professionals, adult educators to prepare them to train disabled participants (target group) to become professional co-trainers or peer supporters.
The expectation was to bring all country representative to the same level of knowledge about the content defined by the IO1 and IO2 to practice and master the exercises that trainers can use to train co-traners. The various exercises of the trainer’s toolkit will be available in IO2 – Train the Co-trainer training curriculum which is designed for disabled people who are motivated to become co-trainers or peer supporters – in such a way that the trainers could choose those excercises which fit the best to the demand of people living with various kinds of disabilities and help them best to master effectively the content of the 6 modules. On the six days Learning, Teaching Training program the six modules’ Responsibles – Specific knowledge on disability, Wecil, 2. Self knowledge and self reflection, CPRG, 3. Emotional management, PUZW, 4. Self management and independence, ESAT, 5. Communication, Theotokos, 6.Becoming a trainer, Fonix – illuminated the context of the content through presentations, videos, TED talks, movie details. Many useful and entertaining exercises, role-plays, storytelling, games, small and large group discussions helped to practice and master the trainer’s toolkit for the effective knowledge transfer of the content of the given module.
Testing was successful with a variety of exercises adapted to the online version as due to the pandemic we had to hold the training online. instead of the five consecutive days originally planned for the face-to-face meeting, we held it for 6 days, dividing the days into January and February. Thus we were able to incorporate more effectively the feedbacks, lessons learnt of each day into the following training day.
The day after the six day training we held a “feedback meeting”, too on which – based on the summary of the evaluation questionnaires filled in after each training day – we discussed how to further expand the content and the associated exercises to the next step which will be IO2 testing in all partner organisations with our clients. Based on the feedbacks we get on this events we will further elaborate the two IOs.
